Sometimes known as Errors & Omissions, PII is designed to protect those who offer professional advice against legal claims from clients that advice given, including design or specification details, was negligent (Errors), or that the proper advice was never given (Omissions).

Whenever you give professional advice to your clients, whether specifically invoiced or as part of your overall service you are legally responsible for the quality of that advice. If it turns out to be wrong or incomplete you could be held liable for any subsequent loss. What's more, you can't avoid responsibility by writing a special clause into your contract.
Professional Indemnity Insurance protects you against this risk, paying the legal costs of defending such claims and reimbursing you for any costs awarded.
PII is compulsory for many professionals; lawyers, accountants, surveyors and the vast majority of blue chip companies and public sector clients now require their consultants to have cover in place.

Sennet Insurance Services Ltd specialises in providing bespoke insurance solutions for practising professionals. We offer you a breadth of knowledge and experience of the PII market that cannot be matched by generalist brokers.
With access to all the major PII underwriters, Sennet can provide you with an individually tailored service at highly competitive rates that you'll find hard to match elsewhere.
We do not offer an instant online quotation service. Every policy that we place is viewed directly by an underwriter or an authorised agent, meaning that when you come to Sennet you can be 100% confident that every aspect of your work is understood and is covered. This level of service is impossible with an automated system.

To provide you with the PII cover you need, we first get to know you and your business by means of a questionnaire or proposal form. This tells us about your experience, the work you do, your clients and your terms of business.
Based on this information, we then approach underwriters for a quote on the most appropriate cover for your needs. We can then talk through the details with you, amend cover if required and, when you're happy with the terms, arrange for cover to start. This can all usually be done within 24 hours, less if the matter is urgent.

You're under absolutely no obligation when you ask us to provide a quote for your Professional Indemnity Insurance.

Whilst we are often able to provide a quick indication for most professions with some basic information about your business, either over the phone (01227 781200) or via email, underwriters will usually require a proposal form to be completed before they can offer a formal quotation. You can download a form by visting our Quote Forms page. When you have completed your details, you can email the form back to us, or print it off and post it to us at:
